The Great Lobster Fly-In 2010

Volunteer Chairs of the Great Lobster Fly-In: Janet Keating (Geneva)
and Jami Johnson (Geneva)

TriCity Family Services brought the Great Lobster Fly-In back to the community this year, just in time for Father's Day.  For more than 20 years, the agency has been flying in lobsters from the East coast and selling them as a fundraiser for TriCity Family Services' compassionate, affordable mental health services.

Recovering from severe storms interfering with the lobsters' flight into Chicago last year, Great Lobster Fly-In volunteers were cautiously optimistic about a safe and on-time arrival for the lobsters this year.

Good fortune smiled on the agency as the lobsters arrived on time for the great Lobster Fly-In pick up on Saturday, June 19th in the Old Kane County Courthouse parking lot in downtown Geneva.  Hundreds of orders for fresh live and steamed lobsters were collected from TCFS supporters thoughout the area and this year, they did not disappoint!

The agency also sold bread from Great Harvest Bread Company (Geneva), beef filets from Josef's Meat and Deli (Geneva), and cookies from Kelly's Cookies from Grandma's Kitchen (Geneva).

In all, this delicious fundraiser made one triumphant return to the community and helped raise much-needed funds for this important community agency.
