Anger Management for Elementary School-Aged Children

A 4 to 6 session workshop teaching children grades K-5 the necessary skills to manage anger, resolve conflict, and effectively communicate their needs. The program addresses conflicts arising at school, in the community, and at home. Smart Choices is family-centered—with an approach requiring strong commitment and participation from the family, as well as the child. Fee reductions are available based on need.

Schedule:

K-2 6 Tuesdays, Oct 4 - Nov 15 4:30 - 5:30 PM
3-5 4 Tuesdays Oct 4 - Oct 25 5:45 - 7:15 PM
Minimum: 3 Families and Maximum: 4 Families
Middle/High School 4 Scheduled Separately for Each Participating Family Call to Schedule

  • "...the way it makes my kids think about the ways to react."

  • "...learning techniques parents can use - identify spot to "Calm Down" - come back when calm - not so angry.  The "I feel...because...I want. please" statements."

In response to the question, "How much as your family changed its conflict resolution style as a result of the Smart Choices K-5 Program?" parent responses included:

  • "Some.  It takes time, but I feel very hopeful."  This parent also rated the quality of instruction as "Very Good."
