Compass for Boys — Volunteer

Opportunities for High School Boys

Supporting our vision of raising emotionally healthier boys, more empowered boys, with each event we strive to provide leadership opportunities for boys, such as managing icebreakers, assisting with small group discussions and activities, and role modeling. Specifically, we look for energetic high school boys who model positive, respectful behavior. If your son is interested in volunteering, please have him email TriCity Family Services’ Director of Emotional Wellness Programs, Michelle Clark, at compass@tricityfamilyservices.org with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Name of high school
  • Cell phone number and email address

Opportunities for Parents/Guardians

Thank you for considering volunteering at this year’s Compass for Boys event at Geneva Middle School South on Saturday, February 1, 2020 (with an automatic snow-day reschedule date set for February 8, 2020).

Each year we rely on a host of local parents and students to come together — in honor of the youth in our community — to make our workshops a reality. It is thanks to community members like you who share our vision of raising healthier, more empowered boys that allows us to offer relevant programs to prepare our sons for today’s social-emotional challenges.

For those of you who choose to volunteer, we hope you’ll find your time spent as joyful and inspiring as we hope our Compass participants will. Our goal as organizers is to make this an enriching experience for everyone involved. So, please feel free to join us for one short time slot if that’s all that your schedule allows, or multiple time slots based on greater availability.

For those of you who feel a deep commitment to our mission, please contact TriCity Family Services’ Director of Emotional Wellness Programs, Michelle Clark, at compass@tricityfamilyservices.org, as we are always looking for volunteers to help prepare for the Compass workshop. Volunteer opportunities include pre-event organization of supplies, organization of lunch and snacks, and set-up for the workshop. On the day of Compass for Boys, more volunteers will be needed to assist with set-up, check-in, the opening ceremony, lunch set-up and serving, and clean-up. In order to add to the unique experience of the event, we are asking for male volunteers for the day of the event for Compass for Boys. We want the boys to see a community of men joining together to help them learn important life lessons.
