Adopt a Family for the Holidays

Looking to give back those in need this Thanksgiving or Holiday season?

We are running our annual “ADOPT-A-FAMILY THANKSGIVING” and “ADOPT-A-FAMILY SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS” programs in November and December and are in need of sponsors to adopt families.  These are great projects for your whole family, club, group or workplace to get involved in. 

For Thanksgiving, we will assign you a client family in need of a good Thanksgiving meal.  You will have the details, including the number of family members and the gender and ages of the children, but for the privacy of our clients, we will withhold their names.  A corporate sponsor provides the turkey; you provide the rest.  Thanksgiving baskets usually contain non-perishable food items for a Thanksgiving meal, but also can include containers to cook or store food, festive table decorations, gift cards, pantry essentials, or other special treats.   

For the Spirit of Christmas program, we will similarly match you with one of our client families in need of gifts and food during the holiday season.  We will provide you with your family’s Holiday Wish List and the gender and ages of all the family members, and rely on you to do the gift shopping and wrapping.  You can also sponsor a family by providing a food basket for the Spirit of Christmas program, or donating gift cards to distribute to several families in need.

Your donation does make a difference in the lives of over 3,000 neighbors and friends!

TriCity Family Services is a community-based provider of mental health services.  We are the sole provider of these types of services on a sliding fee scale in central Kane County.

Our annual appeal, fundraising events and ongoing resource development, allow us to continue to meet the increasing needs of our growing community. 

Furthermore, donations of food, clothing, toys and even cars are given to our neediest families through our Adopt-A-Family program.  This program is primarily focused on the Holiday season.  However, there is an ongoing need for items, and gift cards are always appreciated.  Your generous gift to TCFS will be used to support those in our community in need of mental health services.
