Sara Zimmerman is a licensed professional counselor, national certified counselor who joined TriCity Family Services in 2017. Zimmerman has facilitated prevention and wellness groups for children and adolescents at the agency and works primarily as a therapist for families and individuals of all ages. She also brings experience teaching life skills and providing relational care in a residential facility for homeless youth.
Zimmerman creates space for individuals and families to be empowered to face their pain, find hope for change, and embrace acceptance and compassion for self and others. She takes an attachment-based, relational approach in her work and uses a variety of therapeutic skills and strategies tailored to the needs of the client. In addition, Zimmerman has experience helping clients face traumatic experiences, depression, grief, anxiety, eating disorders, adjustment to ongoing stressors, issues of attention and focus, and behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal concerns.
Zimmerman loves walking alongside her clients in their journey and considers it an honor to be invited to witness moments of real and lasting change. In her spare time, she loves being outside, spending time with her family, cooking, and eating good food.
