Eileen Walts was hired by TriCity Family Services in 2015 after completing a year-long internship with the agency. She has co-facilitated TriCity’s Single Mom’s support group and the Wilderness Challenge Program.
Walts enjoys working with people of all ages, especially individuals, couples, and families who are struggling through life transitions and want to improve their relationships both with themselves and others.
Her goal is to create a safe space for clients to address life’s challenges by making them feel heard, understood, and validated. She focuses on asking clarifying questions; offering links between behaviors, thoughts, and feelings; and providing interventions that build on client strengths to support the changes he or she wants to make.
Walts received her Master’s of Science degree in marriage and family therapy from Northern Illinois University, and is an associate marriage and family therapist. She is a member of both the Illinois Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (IAMFT) and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
In her spare time, Walts enjoys yoga, biking, reading, and spending time with family, friends, and her puppy.
