Sheri O’Brien joined TriCity Family Services’ clinical staff in March 2010. She has more than 15 years of experience providing counseling to children, adolescents, adults, and families through inpatient hospital care, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient programs. Previously, she has worked with both the Streamwood Behavioral Health Center and the McHenry County Youth Service Bureau.
O’Brien understands that there are times in life’s journey when marriages and families begin to show signs of struggle and conflict. Maintaining a marriage or raising children/teenagers does not always come easy, and differences of opinion and power struggles often occur. O’Brien uses her extensive behavioral health knowledge to help clients be strategic and effective in their marriages and in raising their children/teens over time.
An energetic, motivated and dedicated therapist who quickly provides insight and direction when the path in life seems foggy, O’Brien holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management, a Master of Arts in professional counseling from Argosy University, is a licensed clinical professional counselor, and is currently completing a certificate in drug and alcohol counseling.
