Danna Young was hired by TriCity Family Services in 2017 after completing a year-long internship with the agency. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a master’s degree in family and child studies, with a specialization in marriage and family therapy.
Young enjoys working with people of all ages who are struggling with managing depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, as well as assisting them in navigating their way through life’s challenges. She finds it important to create a safe space for her clients to process difficult emotions, life experiences, and present challenges where they can feel heard and supported. Young has experience working with families and couples who desire to learn healthier ways to communicate with one another, in addition to experience working with children, teens, and adult struggling with conflictual relationships, the loss of loved ones, and stage of life transitions.
Finding it important to highlight each client’s strengths as well as empowering them to make the changes they desire, Young believes her clients are the experts of their lives and encourages them to find strength in their personal stories that have led them to be the beautifully unique humans they are.
