Rikki Kaufman, MSW, LSW

Rikki Kaufman joined TriCity Family Services as a full-time therapist in May 2023, she is a United States Air Force Veteran who separated from active duty in 2021. Kaufman earned her Master of Social Work from Aurora University in 2023. She previously studied criminal justice where she earned both her Bachelor and Master of Science. During her job search prior to separation she realized social work was the field she had a true passion for and enrolled at Aurora University.

Kaufman previously interned at Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital as an inpatient psychiatric social worker were she gained experience working with clients from adolescents to late adulthood with varying degrees of mental health diagnoses. Her focus there was on assessments, safety planning, and DBT skills group therapy. Kaufman later built on that experience while interning at the Kane County Sheriff’s Office. There she worked as part of the diversion program, facilitating group therapy to detainees and assisting with job readiness before release.

Kaufman has a passion for LBGTQ+, forensic social work, and social justice policies and issues. She is client centered and strengths based and loves to empower her clients to overcome adversities and life challenges. Kaufman plans to work towards her LCSW and become trained in trauma focused therapies.

In her spare time, Kaufman enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling.
