Compass for Girls — Volunteer

Opportunities for High School Girls

Supporting our vision of raising emotionally healthier girls, more empowered girls, with each event we strive to provide leadership opportunities for girls, such as managing icebreakers, assisting with small group discussions and activities, and role modeling.  Specifically, we look for energetic high school girls who model positive, respectful behavior.  If your daughter is interested in volunteering, please have her email TriCity Family Services’ Director of Emotional Wellness Programs, Michelle Clark, at with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Name of high school

Opportunities for Parents/Guardians

Thank you for considering volunteering at this year’s Compass for Girls event at Geneva Middle School South on Saturday, February 1, 2020 (with an automatic snow day reschedule date set for February 8, 2020).

Each year we rely on roughly 75 parents and students to come together — in honor of the young girls in our community — to make this event a success.  It is not necessary to be a family member of a Compass for Girls participant to volunteer, just someone who shares our vision of raising healthier, more empowered girls.

For those of you who choose to volunteer, we hope you’ll find your time spent as joyful and inspiring as our participants do.  Our goal as organizers is to make this an enriching experience for everyone involved.  So, please feel free to join us for one short time slot if that’s all that your schedule allows or multiple time slots based on greater availability.

For those of you who feel a deep commitment to our mission, please contact TriCity Family Services’ Director of Emotional Wellness Programs, Michelle Clark, at as we are always looking for volunteers to help prepare for the Compass workshop.  Volunteer opportunities include pre-event organization of supplies, organization of lunch and snacks, and set-up for the workshop.  On the day of Compass for Girls, more volunteers will be needed to assist with set-up, check-in, the opening ceremony, lunch set-up and serving, and clean-up.  In order to add to the unique experience of the event, we are asking for female volunteers for the day of the event for Compass for Girls.  We want the girls to see a community of women joining together to help them learn important life lessons.
