Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Family Program

Looking to give back to those in need this Thanksgiving season? TriCity Family Services runs a Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Family Program for client families in need.

During the season of giving, we are so proud to be able to give the low-income and struggling families we serve a big helping hand, beyond the counseling and supportive services they receive from us on a regular basis. Our clinical team offers the Adopt-a-Family program to client families who are experiencing a difficult time and are in financial need of help during the holiday season. The agency secures a corporate sponsor to donate a turkey (gift card) for each family but the community and individuals provide the rest of the food. It is truly an opportunity to support your neighbors in need at what can be a very difficult time of year.

To participate in this program, please donate all the holiday meal fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner. Food should not require refrigeration and should be able to sit for approximately one week without spoiling. In addition to the Thanksgiving meal accompaniments, donors often provide other pantry essentials and popular food items for households with children, and other special treats.

Last year, our Adopt-a-Family Thanksgiving Program provided a spectacular abundance of food, gift cards, hope and joy to 79 families in need, and we anticipate the need to be even greater this November.

Baskets should be dropped off at our agency, located at 1120 Randall Court in Geneva, between November 15-19. If you are interested in donating gift cards or food baskets for this Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Family Program, email Mary Kay Dowling, or call 630.232.1070.

Beginning November 1 , Ginsberg Chiropractic will host its yearly “Doctor with a Heart” program.

For every new patient that enters the chiropractic clinic, Dr. Ginsberg and his staff will donate a Thanksgiving turkey to TriCity Family Services for the agency’s Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Family Program. Thank you, Dr. Ginsberg!
