Opportunities for Parents/Guardians
Thank you for considering volunteering at this year’s Compass for Girls event at Geneva Middle School South on Saturday, January 26, 2019 (with an automatic snow day reschedule date set for February 2, 2019).
Each year we rely on roughly 75 parents and students to come together — in honor of the young girls in our community — to make this event a success. It is not necessary to be a family member of a Compass for Girls participant to volunteer, just someone who shares our vision of raising healthier, more empowered girls.
For those of you who choose to volunteer, we hope you’ll find your time spent as joyful and inspiring as our participants do. Our goal as organizers is to make this an enriching experience for everyone involved. So, please feel free to join us for one short time slot if that’s all that your schedule allows or multiple time slots based on greater availability.
For those of you who feel a deep commitment to our mission, please contact Julie Pouilly, President of the Geneva Coalition for Youth, at firstname.lastname@example.org as we are always looking for volunteers to help chair committees and events.
Volunteer opportunities include pre-event organization of supplies, organization of lunch and snacks, and set-up for the workshop. On the day of Compass for Girls, more volunteers will be needed to assist with set-up, check-in, the opening ceremony, lunch set-up and serving, and clean-up.
