Andy Drott, MS, Ed

Andrea “Andy” Drott (they/them) joined TriCity Family Services as the Wilderness Challenge Program Supervisor and Therapist in January 2024. Andy earned their Masters of Science in Education in counseling from Northern Illinois University in 2007. They worked for over a decade with Youth Outlook, an LGBTQIA+ youth organization, as the Youth Leadership Coordinator. Additionally, they worked at NIU as a health educator helping students make healthy decisions while navigating academic life.

Andy works from a lens of holistic well-being and finding a balance across all life domains. They center the client’s strengths, values, and emotions to empower people to work through challenges.

Andy has a strong passion for the outdoors and has hiked over 650 miles of the Appalachian Trail and been to over 25 national parks across the country. Their experiences have helped shape their approach to life and knowledge that nature has the power to heal and support. You can find them hiking, camping, crafting, or playing roller derby in their free time.
